Kaori Web Smell-O-Vision Update

Spezialbericht aus Japan

kaori_web.jpg image We reported on K Opticom’s “Kaori Web” system back in July, which you may remember as “that computer that can create smells.” In the surprisingly vaporware-free country called Japan, PC Watch’s “Yajiuma PC Watch” feature has covered “Kaori Web” first-hand. Just for a quick recap, this system was jointly developed by Tsuji Wellness and France Telecom, and uses a USB diffuser to create smells that can be commanded by the computer. PC Watch reports that the demonstration unit uses 6 different “gels” that contain the smells, and after the internal fan blows over said gel, you take a whiff. It’s like those “Plug-Ins” you can buy at the supermarket, but controlled by USB—and instead of ‘Mountain Sunspring’ you get smells like tempura, meat and potato stew, a chinese “Chenzhao” dish, and Canadian pork curry. Seriously.
