We are part of Dorsch Global, with over 7,500 experts across our global network delivering projects in more than 60 countries and striving to achieve our vision – Together, we are shaping a sustainable tomorrow.

FFor our locations in Kronberg im Taunus or in Essen, we are looking for a Project Manager (m/f/d) with substantial experience in TVET, Employment Promotion & Private Sector Development. The core thematic focus of this position lies in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), employment promotion and private sector development. In addition, our portfolio covers related areas such as skills development, youth employability, entrepreneurship, formalization of the informal economy, value chain development, investment climate reform, and economic governance. We further engage in cross-cutting topics including gender and social inclusion, human rights-based approaches, and capacity development.

What we expect from you

As a Project Manager (m/f/d), you bring hands-on experience in international development cooperation and are ready to take on end-to-end responsibility – from acquisition to implementation. You are a doer, strategist, moderator, budget manager, and thematic expert – all at the same time. You use your strengths and develop your individual potential. Together with us, you will identify and acquire new projects from international donors and accompany their implementation strategically, operationally, and administratively. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues and draw on our experience and tools as a team. You configure and coordinate expert teams, design implementation strategies, and manage project budgets. You organize your work in a flexible and target-oriented manner and use your creative freedom to realize innovative ideas.

Your responsibilities would include, amongst other things:

  • Independent acquisition of new projects in the areas of TVET, employment promotion, and private sector development, including with KfW as a key donor.

  • Strategic leadership and full-cycle management of ongoing projects: coordination, control, financial and personnel management, and quality assurance – combined with regular travel to project countries.

  • Line management and technical backstopping of project teams and short-term experts in the field.

  • Representation of Dorsch Impact in donor dialogues, partner networks, and sector events; active contribution to business development.

  • Portfolio development, thematic knowledge management, and contribution to the further positioning of our TVET and private sector offer.

  • Preparation of technical studies, concept notes, and expert opinions at headquarters and abroad.

What we are looking for

YYou are dynamic, reliable, humorous, efficient, focused, sensitive to conflicts, curious and determined. You grasp complex issues quickly and design implementable, forward-looking solutions. You have the enthusiasm and courage to help shape the future and possess solid specialist expertise in TVET, employment promotion, and/or private sector development. Your qualifications include the following:

  • University degree in a relevant field (preferably economics, social science, education, public administration, or business administration).

  • Relevant professional experience in international development cooperation, with a strong thematic focus on TVET, employment promotion, and/or private sector development.

  • Proven track record in project acquisition and implementation, ideally in a consulting company or similar advisory environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working with KfW as a donor – both in the acquisition of new projects and in the operational management of ongoing measures.

  • Good regional knowledge and field experience, particularly in the MENA region (an asset) and/or Sub-Sahara Africa.

  • Fluent in English (C1); fluency in Arabic, French, Spanish, or German would be an additional strong asset.

  • Very good knowledge of common office applications and experience with virtual collaboration tools.

What you can expect from us
  • An exciting field of work in an interdisciplinary and intercultural environment;
  • Flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes to encourage commitment, own initiative and innovation;
  • Adequate salary, flexible working hours, 30 days of vacation;
  • Attractive office locations and workplaces;
  • Opportunities for professional development and trainings;
  • Own areas of responsibility and freedom to develop your ideas;
  • Team events, attractive employee benefits and a culture of appreciation and respect.
