Dehradun terminal expansion: regionally inspired and sustainably designed
The domestic passenger terminal at Dehradun Airport was expanded for passengers and visitors.
A key design requirement was to express the regional identity of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand through the design and combine it with a sustainable building concept. The project targeted a four-star rating under GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment), India’s national rating system for green buildings.
Dorsch India supported the two-phase expansion as project management consultant (PMC), from surveys and investigations through to post-construction services. The scope included stakeholder consultation, concept, schematic, structural and detailed design, as well as cost estimation, tender management, project supervision and contract management. The terminal concept incorporates renewable energy and natural lighting.
