Expandable Seawater Desalination in Al-Arish, Egypt

The plant desalinates seawater in the Al-Arish area.

The seawater desalination plant abstracts raw water through an open shore intake in the Mediterranean Sea at Al-Arish. The plant has a capacity of 100,000 m³/day and can be expanded to 300,000 m³/day.

The SWRO plant includes, among other components, the seawater intake, media filter, RO building, lime system, CO₂ injection system, product water tanks and pumping stations, as well as facilities for chemicals, power, operations and staff. ECG provided preliminary design and detailed design.
