Suez Medical Complex: Design of a healthcare campus in Egypt
A new healthcare campus is being developed in Suez to bring together specialised medical care for the region and to save patients long journeys to major cities.
Specialised medical care had previously been available only to a limited extent in the region; for treatment such as intensive care, surgery or cardiac catheterisation, patients had to travel long distances to more distant major cities.
Commissioned by Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population, ECG designed the approximately 60,000 m² campus from concept design through to tender stage. This included the architectural and structural design of the 426-bed hospital, the outpatient building with more than 50 specialist clinics and the residential buildings for doctors and staff, complemented by building services engineering and medical planning. As a result, the campus brings together key departments such as intensive care units and operating theatres at a single, accessible location.

Scope of ECG's services:
- Concept design and preparation of tender packages for the approximately 60,000 m² integrated healthcare campus
