Shaping a Sustainable Tomorrow – Together

Promoting sustainability in the public sector is challenging because financial resources often have other priorities. We raise awareness by making continuous suggestions and are committed to integrating sustainable practices into projects and everyday office life.

Sustainability is not a trend for us, but an attitude. With projects such as the electrification of railroad lines, we are actively contributing to the reduction of CO2 in transportation. Our planning thus creates the basis for climate-friendly rail.

As an architect, I not only want to create living spaces for people, but also make a positive contribution to our environment. For me, sustainability is not an add-on, but a fundamental attitude that must be reflected in every design - such as the Elisabeth Selbert School in Wiesbaden and the competition we won for „Neubau Quartierszentrum in Alzeyer Osten“, where we specifically focused on sustainable concepts such as hybrid timber construction.

Designing optimized HVAC solutions that balance comfort, efficiency, and environmental impact shows how invisible systems quietly shape our world, saving resources and making a meaningful difference with every kilowatt preserved.

Sustainability is important because it allows us to satisfy today's needs without putting future generations at risk. Therefore, in our designs, we aim to optimize proposed solutions by applying circular economy and sustainable design principles. We ensure well-planned resource management by contractors during construction to minimize the carbon footprint.

There’s an Afghan proverb that says, ‘Drop by drop makes a river.’ That’s how I think about sustainability and the work we do at Dorsch Impact. Every small action matters - whether it’s contributing to improving access to clean water and sanitation or promoting sustainable irrigation and farming practices. Together, these efforts add up to real change. I’m proud to be part of projects that help both communities and nature thrive.

I once heard a main character in a movie say they wanted to work for a cause, not just a company - and that line stuck with me. Ever since, I’ve been looking for exactly that. Joining Dorsch felt like the right decision: we're committed to tackling major global challenges and prioritize sustainability. Being part of the sustainability team allows me to help shape this and ensure that impact and responsibility stay at the core of our decisions.
